Clutch pill delete line?

Does anyone know where I can get that braided stainless steel line for the "clutch pill delete"?

You need to post what car you are talking about, we are not mind readers and I doubt you are talking about the 2001 Celica that you show in your information.

I think you can delete the clutch pill without having to replace the entire line.

Re: Clutch pill delete line?

No need to replace anything. Remove the clutch line and bleed screw from the slave cylinder and poke the little plastic pill out of the slave body with a small allen wrench. Once you get that poked out there will still be a spring in there which is much trickier to get out, but leaving it in is fine.

Re: Clutch pill delete line?

Why do they tell you to replace the line then?

Re: Clutch pill delete line?

That write-up/link that I was pointed to from your "Modding your Evo, ~$100 at a time!" says:

"To combat this issue, we replace the stock rubber hose with a braided stainless steel line that will flex with the engine, but does not expand under pressure."

Re: Clutch pill delete line?

The stock clutch line has no issues with expanding under pressure so there is no real need for it. Its not going to hurt anything by replacing it though if you really want one.

Re: Clutch pill delete line?

The point of braided stainless steel is to protect the line from getting cut, and to make it look 'fancy'. It's just a covering basically.

Brake lines and hydraulic lines don't come with braided SS on stuff from the factory, and they have working pressures of at least a couple thousand psi. I think people saying it's necessary are just trying to sell stuff.
