The Eclipse/Laser Convertibles That Never Hit It Off

A while back I remember you guys talking about some hacked Eclipse "convertible from Craigslist," and remembered we had these articles on GalantVR-4.org. Apparently they did have Eclipse/Laser convertibles, but they never sold well and production was very limited.

Here are some scan ins from the other site. Enjoy!

I like the front and rear facias/bumpers and tail lights on the convertible. But the whole car looks like a concept show car, Mitsu would never put that much detail into a production piece.

OK, apparently, Goodhart just told me that they were just a concept. They were never produced. My bad. Still interesting though.

They have one of the concept convertibles at the Factory Mitsu Owners Day every year:

Its awesome because there are hardly any miles on it, so its super mint, and you just don't see that on 1gs these days.

later,

Only a handful of them exist as far as I know, I ran across a thread about the few that do exist a couple weeks back on tuners or something and that's what was posted anyways.

IIRC, I think Jackie Chan owns one of the convertible ones, a gull wing one and a T-Top one.

I think this movie is why he gets to drive any Mitsu car. This movie is quite funny but still a Jackie Chan movie.

Re: The Eclipse/Laser Convertibles That Never Hit It Off

Back in the late 80s/early 90s all of his movies had car chases and the main vehicles were always mitsus.

J chan is the man.
