Question 2g with 50trim intercooler plumbing help needed

Ok, i need some help here in knowing how/where to route the pipes from the turbo to the intercooler.

Car- 2g GSX
Turbo- PTE 50trim t04e housing outlet facing straight down (no elbow)

I was just gonna use a good poly-rubber 90* elbow.

My intercooler inlet is on the bottom right(passenger) side just under the fog light. How do i plumb to the intercooler inlet. I kinda semi-fitted things last night with the stock rad. fan and man it looks tighter than bitch. I don't see how to even begin to plumb this. How do you guys run yours. Do i run straight down from the turbo, then to 90* and go under the crossmember, which would not leave much clearance from the pipe to the ground.

Any help would be appreciated. I need to order some mandrel pipe and couplers possibly by tommorow.

Thanks.

You can remove the fans or buy a slim fan from checker. For the routing, you can cut the area on the core support to make short route piping or make long route that goes by the front pass wheel well.

Where is the other intercooler inlet/outlet at? The inlet should be on the drivers side and the outlet on the pass side. 90* out of the turbo, over to the side, then 180* into the IC. Compound bend coming out the other side, then up to the TB. You aren't thinking of using all rubber hose are you? If so, there is this cool black eclipse on carsoup.com that you should check out!

Jet- HI. Knew you'd be the first one here. You seen my pictures of the intercooler. The warm air in from the turbo goes in the bottom right just under the passenger side fog. The cold air out is on the top left(driver) side and routes over the top of the FMIC thru the passenger side bumper bracket. Would be almost identical to the Big Greddy FMIC. Both spouts face the passenger side. I have no problem with the cold air out one. Nothing will change in that aspect. It's getting it from the turbo to the warm air in just under the passenger fog.

Do you want the shortest route or the easiest to do? The picture looks exaxtly like how the big greddy one mounts and would be the easiest way. But if you wanted to do the shortest route, instead of running the pass side one around, you can cut through the core suport by the pass side FMIC outlet and have a 180 degree bend off there. You will want the turbo elbow to face to the pass side either way. I would save time and do it the greddy was as pictured if you havent done it before. It saves a lot of time.

Slowboy racing sells nice 90 degree silicone hose bends. That's what comes with their front mount that I'm running. I'm very happy with the quality.

Re: 2g with 50trim intercooler plumbing help needed

I actually did my first business transaction with SlowBoy last week. Nice products and service. Thanks.

ghetto- Maybe i confused you. That weblink that i posted is my intercooler. My brother and i did the custom piping a few years back. I took the intercooler off my GST prior to selling it and now putting it on my GSX.

My question is how to get it from the turbo outlet to the 180* u pipe that you see in the picture. Obviously you need a 90* silicone bend to at least get the routing facing the right direction. The factory fan is a huge roadblock. I almost have to go straight down and then run a pipe under the crossmember and over to the u-pipe. Or get a whole different fan all together and run it right behind the fan. I don't really like the idea of going under the cross member for the sake of if the car bottom out or hits something on the road the pipe could get damaged.

I have 2.5" 90* bends in stock. No waiting! I also have most any other 2.5" bend you need, including the 2" - 2.5" transition. I have straight couplers and T-bolts in stock also.

Re: 2g with 50trim intercooler plumbing help needed

i didn't really look at the article all that much i know you have a 2.5 piping for your intercooler but i have a 50 trim and i bought a 90 degree elbow from extreme motorsports - mine was 2 inches cuz my intercooler piping is smaller but i know if you buy one it will fit to your intercooler piping (just make sure it's 2.5 inch piping to the intercooler and whatever your turbo inlet is)- but i didn't read the article so this isn't probably any help to you at all, whatever - just trying to post a couple of things. reply to this if i'm on the right track or tell that i'm dumb for even gettting into it!
