My buddy with a 97 gsx was over yesterday and when he left,

within 2 min he called to tell me that he had no power steering. Drove

over to his car quick to find it the alternator belt was broken. After about

a min the coolant started pouring out of the car, im not talking about alittle

coolant, it was all of the coolant......Bad radiator????

I have no idea on what it could be???? Any thoughts/ideas????

Where was the coolant coming out of? If it was out of the radiator then sure maybe the radiator cracked. Otherwise maybe a coolant line broke or something like that. You have to find out where the coolant is coming out of.

Since the belts are also related I'm going to say it has something to do with the waterpump. When mine finally went, the coolant literally dumped out of the car.

He probably overheated the car. The alt. belt drives the water pump. Most likely it just came out of the overflow bottle. If the belt brakes again try not to drive it too far (if at all) and watch your tempature gauge. I lost 4 alt. belts in two months. I'm a pro.
