Strut Bars!!

So, I see many people with strut bars. I just hate how they all look so flimsy, and I can't see how the two pivots help tighten up the chassis. Anyone out there sell off the shelf SOLID strut bars? Or do I have to go make them myself? I was thinking for the front, copy the evo and have it attach in three places: both strut towers, and the firewall. And the rear, just a solid piece going across the strut towers.

Re: Strut Bars!!

They work. They are just to keep the 2 strut towers from flexing inward.

Re: Strut Bars!!

Raise the car on a chassis lift (not a wheel lift, you want the tires and suspension hanging freely), install it with a little preload. Put the car back on the ground and you are ready to go.

Re: Strut Bars!!

When installing my front bar I'd always use a jack at the center point near the front motor mount which works fine too.

Re: Strut Bars!!

Not sure about the current ones, but the older Ractive bars were cheap and fairly stiff.
