brake light and Batterie

well i have a red top deep cycle optima batterie and i have my afc2,deck gauges plus what ever else that gets power to stock parts but i was driving and my brake lite and batterie light are on the batterie reads around 12 volts some times drops down to 11.8ish and goes back up. could the be a bad altenator?

Optima batteries are full of quality control issues. Sounds like your problem is either your battery or alternator. Go to Checker or Autozone, they do free in-car testing of both.

welcome to my world. Where the alternator goes as fast as cake with a chubby kid.

Have your battery checked. If its still good, do the alternator check. So i've been told this identifies the situation.

Turn your car on, leave it idle for a minute or two. Turn up the air, lights, blinkers, and then pull one of the plugs on your battery. If car dies, your alternator is screwy.

Mine died.

is that safe i dont want to be fryed! i hate batterys
