carbon fiber vortex generator installed

Call me a ricer if you want. I like it and am happy with it because it goes well with the carbon fiber wing and my exhaust tip heatshield on the rear bumper.

I just installed my eBay carbon fiber vortex generator and am very happy with it considering it only cost me $30 shipped. This is a Tyrant brand which LancerShop used to sell for $399. It is real carbon fiber, not carbon fiber "look". This piece is brand new, but I got it so cheap because one of the mounting tabs is broken off and I had to use my own double-sided tape. I used 5 feet of 3M Super Strength body tape which cost me $5.99. The fitment was decent, but had I paid the full price of $399 I would have been pissed and sent it back. It does have a few flaws that 99% of people will never notice. The weave matches my exhaust outlet heatshield surround thing, but not the wing which has a much tighter weave. Installation was easy enough and overall I am very happy considering this cost me under $40 total!

Sorry for the crappy pictures, but I didn't feel like pulling my car out of the garage.

I'm gonna get some 3M adhesive remover, take that off your car, and throw it on the talon!

Looks nice, on the second pic it looks like it is a little worn on the lower right corner... or is that just the pic? Either way that is a steal, and you can tell its real CF.

That's just glare from the lights in my garage. I waxed it already so it is really reflective!

No kidding! I was thrilled with the $80 shipped I paid, then I saw the broken tab and they offered to refund $50 of my original $80 so I was even more pumped!

Don't those things help stabilize the car when you are going over 160 too?

It doesnt increase downforce so much as it decreases drag.

Thanks dude, I was just about to link that article until I saw you posted it.

I just got back from driving around in the rain and the water drops behave much differently now on my rear window and wing surface so its obvious this thing actually does something other than looking badassricertastic

The other good news is that it didn't fly off on the highway so I must have installed it semi-decently (thank you 5 feet of 3M tape).

I was either going to get carbon fiber or a paint-match one in white. They come paint-matched on the MR models too.

Re: carbon fiber vortex generator installed

Honestly I rather have a black plastic almost then a paint match. I just don't think it would look good in white.

But I do agree on going CF, looks bomb. Now all you need to do is remove that wing

Haha, you're just jealous because I have an actual dryer for my laundry and do not need a clothes line on my car to do laundry
