Question Why so much cheaper?

Hope I'm not .. but I probably am...
Why are BC 272 so much less expensive than HKS?? Are HKS really that much better?

Re: Why so much cheaper?

Because BC stuff is junk Not sure about DSM's, but they're really good at losing power on Evo's and S2000's LOL

Just because the numbers are 'the same' does not mean the cams are the same. Specs are different, manufacture is different, etc. For a DSM, HKS 272s or nothing imho.

Re: Why so much cheaper?

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but the BC cams are regrinds, whereas the HKS cams aren't.

If you are ok with running small cams in your car...

Check out FP's cams.

Re: Why so much cheaper?

Brian Crower cams are new camshafts, not regrinds. When installed / degreed properly we have had good luck with the BC cams on the DSM platform as a cost effective upgrade. However, as was mentioned above the numeric designation is almost meaningless as there are several different specs that cannot be determined from the "272" designation. If you are looking for a low cost performance upgrade BC is a good choice, but if you want the best performance I would look to either FP or Kelford...

It depends on the application. They're not bad for the money. I've not seen them lose any power on Evos in person.

I've had them in my car for the passed 2 years. Working great for me. I didn't degree them either.

Re: Why so much cheaper?

just put in VTEC camshafts, i hear they work awesome. lol.

OP, I'm getting the BC camshafts for the galant just because i've seen them perform pretty well. once i get an Evo, i'll go to the kelfords or FP camshafts.
