Re: Holset turbo

I have one on my car.

I have a Holset HX40 with the BEP .55 A/R housing. I have 272's on a stock 2.0L and on the street it hits 28psi about just a c-hair over 4000rpm. On the dyno it was like 4500. I'd say go for it

It's a fine turbo. It's just a slightly off the beaten path turbo.

I got mine brand new.

If you need parts or repair, go to Diesel Components.

Also, the Oil drain tube sucks on 1gs because the motor mount is kinda in the way. I made mine with 2 45 degree pushlock fittings.

BTW, I have a good HX40 comp. wheel if you get a HX35 and want to make a hybrid?

Re: Holset turbo

BEP has a Mitsu bolt on housing and a T3 housing. A lot of people do the ERL Cast T3 manifold and the T3 housing.

On tooners there is a guy who is apparently making 640awhp@40psi on the bolt-on .55 A/R housing on a built 2.3L, which im implying the .55 i guess wont choke as much as people think.
