vac canister on 1g

do i need that vac canister on a 1g. its on the passanger side on the bottom of the firewall, it looks like it needs to stay?

That's just the charcoal canister for the evap system. You don't need it.

yea, if you take it out your check engine light will come on

but fuck emissions

Since when? Mine never threw a CEL when I pulled it out.

Your cel will not come on if you remove.. I don't know where you heard that from.

If you pull the solenoids it throws a CEL, if you just cap off the vacuum lines it doesn't.

^^ Again, that's only for 2g's. You can pull all that crap out of a 1g and no cel's will come on at all.

Pull it.. It wont set off you're check engine light. The only thing I've heard that would set off you cel would be the stock boost control solenoid. Which is off my car but no cel. Check vfaq for the emissions remove diagram. It will show you everything you can remove.
