Forums Rules & Guidelines Updated

For the rules, I am gonna make them simple.

1. No personal bashing of other members. Calling someone a ricer as a little joke because they got a huge wing on their car, is not bashing. Making a personal attack on them, in a serious manner, is. This can also include racial remarks. Leave this crap off the site. If you feel like something is a personal attack please contact one of the admin and moderating team ASAP. Or use the report post feature

2. No Nudity. How hard is this one to follow? If I can at any point see a private part of any sort (nipple, taco, or the shlong) your gone. No 2nd chances.

3. No companies posting anything for sale anywhere on the site without permission from DSMStyle or DSMChick. We have shops on here who pay to advertise. We don't charge much and we feel having an avaerage of 1.2 million hits (yes overall hits, not unique hits) a month is a good enough reason to do this. This also includes people who have developed a product or service to sell for a profit more than just one time. For this we also require permission and this would fall more under our member offered services. Only individuals with 50 or more posts may use the classifieds to sell an item in any form. And the item must be owned by them and sold by them. Other than that we expect all classified posts to have solid descriptions and if our moderation team feels that they are not up to par then they will be deleted with no quesitons asked.

4. General posting guidelines. We expect all topics to have a fitting title. No more of the generic titles like "OMG LOOK INSIDE" or "SHIT!! LOOK!!". It doesn't matter what's inside, it will be deleted. Use the shift key and other tools that amazingly come on your keyboard. If you never use a (.) or a capital letter you will have issues here. Right Craig? All tech questions should be put in the right spot and should have the correct title or they will also be gone. This is a no bullshit area. If you make some dumbass post in the tech area that someone could take seriously, your post will be edited/deleted and you account may be as well.

All members who join this site go through a promotion series. It starts with all members who sign up entering the group Registered Members. From there they are only allowed to make a post in a few select areas. I suggest an intro post in the new members area. After they have 1 post the server will update them into the New Members group in about 1-2 hours. After 50 posts they will be moved into a group called the Working Class. After hitting the 100 post count they are moved into a group called Upper Class and after hitting 250 posts they are now apart of the Senior Member group. Each group has new features members can use on the site. Such as posting in the Classifieds, Playing in the Acrade, and using the Gallery.

This lets us put the stop sign out for those wanting to just post up shit for sale or just play in the arcade. You must contribute something to use those features.

Now the main thing is to just enjoy the site as we have some great members and shops on this site that make owning a DSM in the Midwest or anywhere else your visiting from fun!

This site does cost alot of time and money to keep going. I have support from the local shops and members offering services to keep the site going strong. But if any member wants to donate, it is greatly appreciated. I accept Pay Pal using the address dsmstyle@dsmstyle.com and I also have DSMStyle.com stickers available for sale. They are $2.00 each and all you have to do is PM me for color info and payment options. We also have a CafePress store at www.cafepress.com/dsmstyle where you can buy DSMStyle.com gear.

If you have any questions about the site, this is the forum to post them in. Otherwise enjoy the site and have some fun!

Just to add to this a little bit, we are going to be keeping a much closer eye on proper grammar. It doesn't have to perfect like English class, but at least make an attempt to make the posts clear to other people without getting out their decoder ring!

You will first be warned about posts and if it is bad enough the post/topic will be deleted. If you become a bad enough offender then you will be demoted and may not be able to post. We have had quite an influx of newbies lately and the board has gone downhill. We want to keep DSMStyle a respectable place, so please do your part to keep it that way.

Thanks,
JET

On a more serious note. I have already been PMing members about their grammar when posting. So if you get a PM from me or any other mods or admin about it its not to single you out, its just for the better interest of the site. A lot of the information especially in the tech threads are really beneficial for using the search function. It makes it alot easier searching and researching when the threads are easy to read and understand.

Also if you are not interested in whats being sold in the for sale threads don't post in them. If you have valid questions about what the person in selling, thats fine. If you don't, read them and move on. It seems like some people have the need to post in every thread possible.
