Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

took the engine harness out so I can take it all apart and shorten up wires and reloom the full thing and get it tucked. Also got the engine bay harness out so I can get the other one that I took all the extra wiring out of that was not needed. One of the nuts came off the front bumper bracket and had to cut a hole in the frame rail to get the bumper off the car.

started on the right side of the engine bay. Took out the cusco brake stop bracket, brake booster, clutch master, line and slave.
Then I went after the body glue with the torch and then the wire wheel to get the car ready to seam weld the car to make it stiffer. Also wire wheeled all the bolt holes that are not need on the frame rail.

got all the bolt holes welded shut just have to go after them with the flapper disk to make them look better.

Also got the full right side seam welded up

just have to seam weld the left side, weld the bolt holes on the left side. Also have to weld the the bolt holes on the fire wall shut

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

Work was slow today so we looked through the aircraft alum and s.s. Scrap bins and got some 6061 alum and found a few 10am fittings for a oil catch can. Also got some 304 half hard s.s. To make a battery box. We finished up the oil catch can to night and got the battery box all bent up just have to Finnish it up tomorrow. It needs the ends and to be tiged.

Here is the new oil catch can two 10am in and a 10am drain line. Just have to get craig to get me a pair of k&n breather filters for v8 valve cover. An drill the holes in the top for them.

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

The parts are spray painted it is the same paint I used for the brembos.

The car will get painted this summer since a cam broke the windshield so I am going to do the roof skin and paint it now. My parents gave me the money for the sealer and paint money for x-mas and my b-day.

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

Blasted and hot tanked the oil pan at work last week. I got around to painting it yesterday. It is flat black with a satin clear.

Also decided to paint the oil catch can also. If I get tired of it I can blast it and polish it later on.

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

got the new lower core support finished up today. I did it to make more room for the lower piping with the top mount. it was touching the stock one and the stock support is rusted and the bolts were frozen in it

1.5x1.5 box for the rollstop mount bar

the new bar 2.0x1.0 also drilled and droped in and welded new pegs for the griffin radiator

seeing how the radiator sits now. little more forward and down a bit more room
