Transfer Case

I would check my manual but I left it in my other car in Wis. I know the Trans case has to come off before I can get the block out. Is there any way to get it off the block with out pulling the passenger side CV and all that shit.
The intermediate shaft seems to be in the way of 2 bolts that need to come off the block before I remove it. What a bitch if I have to take all that apart. Thanks in advance

Re: Transfer Case

On the 1Gs, you don't need to remove anything except the downpipe to remove the transfer case. I swear the 2Gs are exactly the same, if I remember right?

Re: Transfer Case

Yeah, if the 2G's are like the 1G's it should be exhaust, a few bolts and then just slide it off.

Re: Transfer Case

Ok so I figured out the transfer case is not in the way. But do I have to pull the transmission out before I can get the block out? It seems like the flywheel or something between the tranny and block is holding it up. LMk Thanks

Re: Transfer Case

Take the tranny out before the the block. With the trannys input shaft you will have a hell of a time.
