Drag racers? Any of you here?
I've always wondered who on here actually goes drag racing other than MAPs event and likes to go.
Hopefully I'm working by spring, my goal is to drag race at least once a month, I'd like to do more and get consistent with the car. (I make this goal every year it doesn't happen)
Also, what class do u plan on being in for PG? I should be in stock appearing class this year.

Automatics shouldnt even be considered drag racing? Might as well have a driver like nascar! How fun is it to brake and gas? I just dont see the point in automatics and racing? Might as well stick to dyno #s...
And shiny parts!

Yes. That is exactly why we switch to auto, for the higher dyno #'s!
Unfortunately though I didn't have the cash for the cage this winter though so I think it will be a case of No Cage = No fun for me.

I thought it was easier to launch my 5spd car than my auto car. Spooling the turbo in prestage and then rolling ahead just enough is not a no brainer to do without red lighting.

Re: Drag racers? Any of you here?
In an auto it still takes knowledge to set up a car correctly. If things aren't set up right, still have a horrible driver, or just throw endless amounts of money you don't always have a fast car.
If I keep my rocket I'd come out with you a few times Aaron. I'd like to get better at launching/banging through the gears.

I want to go in the bean a couple times. Scared to destroy the tranny so will probably just be going for trap speed.

Re: Drag racers? Any of you here?
All I do is drag my car, I went 5 times last year, with the first half of the year having all but issues. Next season I will hopefully be able to run more, I now have hoosiers!
Last year i was in true street, but had problems. Im a fan of running real street/unlimited at PR this year

Re: Drag racers? Any of you here?
I'm planning on finally going again this year. I'd like to practice up and be ready for the shootout as well, I miss actually driving my car out there instead of a truck and trailer.

Re: Drag racers? Any of you here?
I have only been to the track once with my auto car, and it was a lot harder to launch it. With that said I wasn't even trying to race the next guy I just went once I thought I was ready and tried to run good times, this year I will have to find a way to be competitive.
Once the car is setup it probably will be easier than a 5 spd, but so far I have cut better 60s with my 5 spd over my auto. I also never used NLTS at the track either.

Re: Drag racers? Any of you here?
I'm just going to go in my beater and get-...win the 15 second class. haha.
But really, I try to go if time lets me this year. Going with GVR4 a couple years back was pretty fun. Grillin' and racin' the whole day

Re: Drag racers? Any of you here?
I plan on going to the track this year. I would like to get in the 9s this year if this bike deal works. If not I will take the maxima and run some 13s. Count me in this year

Re: Drag racers? Any of you here?
I'm not going to the track at all this year. Mostly because I have an automatic and they are worthless for drag racing.

You are probably right, once is enough for you for 5 years anyways.
