My trans has a LSD front diff.
Welded center diff
Quadco output shaft
welded bellhousing
Trying to get a dogbox style engagement off the ground before track day as well.
So I guess it is as "built" or more as they come.

Re: Finally getting stuff done on our cars
figured I would throw up a few pics for those that haven't seen the new setup.
Setup is close. I still have a few brackets to make here and there, some tuning, fixing a head surface finish issue (so the motor is currently back out of the car).
In-fact we stripped the motor down last night. Bearings showed signs of catching stuff (no wonder, I've blown an oil pump to shreads on this new setup) but for the amount of abuse on the setup, I am VERY happy with how everything looked.
So we are gonna toss in a fresh set of bearings and new rings cause its all apart.
I should be back together before June 1st. We are going to try to hit the Cedar Falls track date the 26th.
I will be in Texas this weekend, so John has all weekend to work on his car, I'll have some sweet pics up soon, but here is a teaser:

Yes and no. The problem is that stress concentrations are quite unpredictable, the opposite of what most think. Welding in reinforcements can dissipate those concentrations but they may also not address anything and in turn, add unnecessary weight.

You'd never believe me but a damm hole saw from Home depot .
I took my time to drill the holes, as someone noticed they are not 100% perfect, but close enough for a "drag car".
I still have to make the rear windage tray to tie the back of the bumper to the gas tank area.

Looks good Josh, I especially like those bumper vent holes. Oh and couldn't you find a bigger intercooler?

That sure is a fancy windshield washer intercooler that John has! Pretty sweet!!

A cool air charge is EVERYTHING when it comes to making power.
Hell I was running those 50 trims so far off the "map" that they probably couldn't even see it. I won't be pushing the 76mm turbo THAT far (not sure if the motor can take that much power), but I would like to keep IAT's under 100 degrees at the track.
Now John is even more excessive. His water cooler holds 3 gallons, plus whatever is in the intercooler, plus lines.
That will be controlled via AEM and a temp sensor.

Yeah he unpacked them so we can figure out the "order" they are going in the dash (see those holes below it).
The Tach I think is going in the factory location as far as I remember, then it is:
SWP Blower gauge (0-100psi)
SWP Water Temp Gauge
SWP Oil Pressure Gauge
SWP Oil Temp Gauge
SWP Fuel Pressure Gauge
He also has a trans temp gauge, but I think he'll just sell that..or we will use it to monitor something other than trans temp.
I on the other hand have 4 gauges (water temp, boost, oil pressure, afr) and the AEM tells me everything else. John likes gauges and told me I can't add anymore to my car.
I think I should be allowed to catch up .

Re: Finally getting stuff done on our cars
Setup looks good. What sized turbo - 76? Where did you get the mandrel bent aluminum 3" charge piping? What was the big secret?
Is that John's radiator? Looks like it'll have clearance issues, or will be going out the hood. I'm enjoying the work on both cars. I'd like to see them run a few passes. Please inform when you're heading to Rock!
Should prove to be an eventful summer.

The turbo is based off a 76gts. It is rated for over "1100hp" compared to last seasons "940". I'll know what it makes when it makes it. I wanted to be quite as we wanted results and it to be running good for the dyno day (kind of a surprise) but that didn't work out.
Thats johns cooler for his water to air intercooler. It is open at the top so he can toss in ice at the track.

Re: Finally getting stuff done on our cars
Do you have a temp probe in the water for John's IC? I would think with that small of transfer area that it would heat up on the street, but I could be wrong.

Re: Finally getting stuff done on our cars
Pump gas, street driving, low boost... I am going to make a block off plate for the heat exchanger and run as much ice as I can(on race gase and 30+psi), about 1.5 gallons of ice will fit in the top, and use my IAT sensor to turn on the water pump at X air temp. Pump gas will be low boost, 15 or less psi so I do not think temps will be an issue. I will use a coolent temp sensor in the heat exchanger to see what the temps are, then if I get crazy put dry ice in the top with a vent and see what the temps get down to. And the hood will close, I think it will be mounted about 1" lower then it is now. The intercooler is big, the hole system will have about ~4-4.5 gallons, the water pump will draw water from the bottom go threw the IC then dump back in the top.
