Re: operation redo engine bay

Depending on how bad it went dry you could have cooked your fuel pump.

But my guess is you may have clogged the sock/filter that attaches to the fuel pump by getting down that far.

Re: operation redo engine bay

I'd just stick with a single pump. Get a Boost-a-pump if needed.

Re: operation redo engine bay

okay so I got my new fuel pump today and got it in and nothing at all its not even making a sound (you should be able to hear it with the key just turned on right ? ) . could it just be the relay?? it really driving me insane and starting to piss me off a little don't get it. so any ideas I would like to get my car to the cookout

Test voltage at the pump, and voltage in and out of the relay. That will tell you where the problem is.

Re: operation redo engine bay

If its like the 1gs the fuel pump wont prime till you turn the car over.
Just do a full fuel pump rewire if you havent already

Re: operation redo engine bay

There should be a little test connector in the engine bay right? Or is that a 1g thing?

Re: operation redo engine bay

If you have link just use that function in the MISC tab, pump shouldn't stay on with key on, only when you turn the car on. Can use jumper wires and a batt. and hook it strait up to the pump to make sure it works.

Re: operation redo engine bay

I think mitsu changed it for the 2gs to prime when the key is just turned on for some safety reason or something like that. Someone correct me if i am wrong.

And why would i have to rewire everything shouldnt everything be fine just wire up the pump and thats it ?

Re: operation redo engine bay

Should have a test connector (believe it is black) on the firewall. That is used for the fuel pump.

Re: operation redo engine bay

You should see the blue connector and black. I have a brown one as well for grounding timing (2ga's only)
Black is for fuel pump

Re: operation redo engine bay

Jump 12v to that connector and it should turn on the pump.
