How about more types of schedules? Instead of everyone starting at the same damn time, spread some of the start times out. I would start at 9 or 10 no problem. If traffic wasn't stop and go in the morning a TON of gas would be saved.
I rode the bike in today with the g/f, so the 2 of us used 1/4 gallon of gas to get 10 miles into work
