The cars I posted are unibody 1Gs with RWD Powerglides and actually probably the same car. Rau's car is tubed and partially tubed with a 5-speed manual G-Force tranny, slipper clutch, electronic suspension that changes as he goes down the track, a crap load of chassis work done by a high-end chassis fab shop. You could probably drive a car similar to the 1Gs on the road, Brent's can only go straight for a 1/4 mile at a time. Brent ripped apart SlowBoy Racings Pro Outlaw RWD 1G recently to re-do it correctly. The Starion is a better platform to do a RWD 4G63 street car in, the stock rear end went low 9s in Eric Plebani's 4G63 RWD Starion.

Yeah, the rear end is pretty stout. I ahve read that they are good for repeated launchs in the 600hp range.
