Yes there is no physical link, let me share with you all the reason that pot IS a gateway drug.
Think of it this way. A girl or guy loses their virginity. Now that they have gone over that first hill of having sex for the first time they realise that sex isnt that big of deal as its made out to be. so they do it more and more and start trying new positions, and eventually they are left with a sore ass. Even though there is no PHYSICAL evidence that sex is a gateway to new positions its human nature that if you "try" something for the first time, you are likely to "try" other things for the first time.
Same thing with pot, once you smoke it and realise that its not that big of deal you look for the next way to get high, although there is no physical evidence, human nature is all the evidence you need.
