As others have said, 2g pistons on 1g rods are a proven combination. I recommend using ARP rod bolts, headstuds, and main studs (if you decide to use ARP main studs, use the CRCO dowel kit as well). Going with the eagle/wiseco combination gives you a little more peace of mind.

I recommend TRE to anyone interested in a transmission build. I have over 70k miles on my TRE transmission and have yet to have a problem with it. I have the basic rebuild with double synchro 1st/2nd. Shep racing is also a great transmission shop.
