Re: $2/gallon gas by Thanksgiving?

I got premium for 2.85 yesterday, which is what I paid for regular a week ago.

Just in time for me to go back to school where I don't do any driving, and maybe pay for a tank of gas every semester from borrowing peoples cars.

Does anyone remember when this same thing happened last year, and sometime over the winter gas got down to about $2/gallon, because I remember seeing $1.99/gallon when I was up in St. Cloud.

but that was the dead of winter when gas demand is at it's lowest.

this drop is VERY unexpected. Normally gas prices do not drop until after labor day. This year it is happening two weeks prior.

which means it might go lower than anyone expects.

we'll just have to wait and see.

Still, when is the last time gas dropped $1 because it was winter.

When gas was $1.25 in the summer, it went down to like $1.10 in the winter. Obviously demand has an impact, but a 35-40% price drop?
