Then I guess stiffer valve springs is back on the list then.

I don't know a damn thing about 600hp setups, but people have had luck just shimming the stockers.

To add to the list given of what's needed, add a well built engine. You can't count on much more than 400hp on a good tune (from what everybody seems to be able to get away with) on a stock bottom end. The best way to think of the goal you've set is to plan on replacing better than half of the functional parts of your car. It's quite a goal.

Is that more helpful?

And don't be insulted by everyone's anger over this thread. You may not realise it, but you're posts give away an ignorance that will not allow you to meet your goals, yet. Hence the recomendations to set them a little lower. Set a goal of 300-350hp. The steps you'll take to get there will give you a lot of the knowledge you'll need to go higher. What you need to know to hit 600hp reliably is not the type of info you can gain by asking 'what do I need' on a forum.

Re: hi dsmers! Care to help me?

sorry guys but doing the step by step thing like I mentioned before is a real waste of my money and I rather get direct advice from you guys that been throught it many times before. I don't know about you guys but when it comes to things I know and someone asks me what should I do I normally help and guide and inform them what to do and buy. I don't do the shaddy "I don't what people to catch up or be at my level" unlike other people.

I think it's been mentioned here before by someone that some guys don't want other people to catch up or outstage them and so they won't help noobs or give them solid advice.

Apparently you missed my point. It's not about wasting money. Sure, you'd save a small amount (in relative terms) by going all at once, but it's not worth it. If you don't learn by doing and just try to go on advice and put together a monster you will end up failing or killing your car and possibly yourself in the process. It doesn't take much money to build a 300-350hp car and much of the stuff can be kept or resold when you decide to upgrade. Then when you spend your fortune on building a 600hp monster you'll know what you're doing, how to handle it and most importantly not blow it up and lose all your money and hard work.

So, seriously, what's $500 lost/used to learn to do things properly when you're going to spend many thousands in the long run.

Re: hi dsmers! Care to help me?

I just keep the boost down and run 110octane when I want to push 600whp but for DD I'll just keep the boost low so that's the plan in the future.

Any more input from you guys?
