TRE has a budget rebuild that is under 1000$. Usually during the change of seasons they have a sale going on. You can do a budget exchange or a rebuild for around 1000. Not too sure on
sheps prices. Check them both out and compare. Or, if you have an existing loan, take out a loan on top of that one for a little more, I did this, payments only went up 20$. Granted I will be paying for a little longer. TRE also sells the OEM mitsu parts for trans. I bought a TRE stage 2, butter.
