I work with a guy that used to drive gm's for quality assurance and he said the biggest problem they saw with e85 was switching back and forth between e10 and e85. He said they trended to get this gooey gel that would plug up the strainer. Then gm redesinged the pickup so that it didn't sit in a bucket. As well as some of the coatings they used would disove and flake off and plug things up. All the things they changed to make them "e85 compatable" were pretty minor he said.
