The timing belt was done right, my only thought is the main pulley bolt backed out somehow, which doesn't make any sense either. Let me know what you find out.

Well after pulling the head and all the timing components off, we found that many simple bolts, LIKE THE MAIN CRANKSHAFT SPROCKET BOLT!, were halfway or more out, leading me to believe it was never tightened. The result of it was the crankshaft main sprocket backing off the crank, and damaging it. Also the lower timing belt cover bolts were barely tightened down (hand tight or less).

Secondly, the timing belt tensioner bracket was not there, leaving the timing belt tensioner loose. So overall it seems that the timing belt job was less than satisfactory. The result of this was catostrophic valve damage, to the exhaust side, and some piston damage.

I have tons of pics of the damage, some are pretty wicked (and will post them soon). Have most of it put back together, just going to finish up a couple things this week, and hope all is well.
