Re: what turbo to get??

Big turbos are nice if you want your DD to feel like a normal sedated car and get better gas mileage. If you want a twitchy high strung feeling pocket rocket then get a quick spooling 14B, T28 or 16G. The 16G is killer for autox and track racing though. But sometimes the turbo always spooling when you are just trying to drive normal gets annoying.

Some people have to take off quick from every stoplight, hit it on every on ramp and drive like a maniac weaving in and out of traffic on the freeway. If that is your driving style then get a 16G. If you can control yourself, only use the power when you need it, and know to downshift into the right gear when you want to go fast, then maybe get a big turbo.

True^lol i think that why most people go the 16g itz really fun when spooling up. great for quick take off so..this is why i keep a 16g on hand as a back up turbo.

Re: what turbo to get??

I drive the car a lot but not always daily driven and the v trim doesn't exactly spool the greatest so I'm already used to a little lag so I think I'm leaning toward a 50 trim or 60 trim unless you guys have any other suggestions

A "back up turbo"? Sorry, but anyone running a big turbo, it's not quite that easy to swap on. REAL "big turbos" use different manifolds, external wg's, different exhausts, feed/return lines, intake, etc, not to mention different tune. Keeping it for safe keeping..ok. But, as a backup to something else, to me says it's a "swapable affair". Usually not associated with larger framed guys.

All that said, I suggest a gt47-88. Puts some hair on your chest.

yes i know the big turbo require different manifolds, external wg's, different exhausts, feed/return lines, intake, etc, i keep the 16g as a back up turbo for my other dsm which is currunly runnin the stock turbo ...anyway i also recommend the scm61 or if you want some hair on your chest go with the gt47-88
