Yea joem and the repairs by 'joe' are different people. I guess that makes it rough to call up and ask for 'Joe' lol. If he does still work there, just send your brother there with the trans, talk to him in person, that way you have him nailed down.
Maybe have him start off by enquiring about a trans he has that he would like rebuilt
