I hate to say this, but if you don't have the confidence to trace down wires, look at wiring diagrams and such, you probably should get a stock car. That being said, I have confidence that just about anyone can handle a problem such as the one you are encountering. If you took more detailed pictures, showing what wires go to what, we can probably be of more help. That's a terrible picture.
