It isn't hard to pay cash for a $2000 DSM.


My wife uses her Amex for cash back like that on business travel, but I hate it when people use rewards cards at my shop. Since the rewards actually get paid by us. Credit card companies don't pay for shit, fraud falls on the shop/store, reward cards are paid for by jacking the percent we pay in fees when we accept one of those cards. With the amount they make on transaction fees alone, they shouldn't need to charge interest.

Bank/issuer really only makes money on the interest.

Visa/MC/etc takes a percentage on each transaction, basically fixed

The acquirer (or processing company) negotiates the individual rates a store will pay for each type of transaction. Whatever Visa/MC doesn't take, they keep.


I've been trying to pay people in cash lately, just withdraw the amount before I go to pay, stick it to the credit card companies, haha.
