I had the SAME issue with my Evo. It was a pain in the ass since the guy needed his plates back ASAP to give back to the state (NC). So basically we had to overnight paperwork for a couple days to get it all straitened out.
Regardless, I am jealous of your find. Keep us posted on updates!
