You can still check your baseline timing whlie cranking, even if the engine doesn't run.And if your DSM is pre 93-94 and the caps haven't already been replaced, there is a 99.9999% chance they are leaking(even if you can't see it).I've seen alot of ECUs, and only 2 of them didn't have leaking caps, both out of my 1gs that haven't ran since the mid 90's.First you should swap in a known good ECU to eliminate that as a possibility.How did you check your timing? Spark?
