Help me catergorize a Galant VR4

I miss spoke. 88 and 90 were the first modle years, 87 (possibly even 86, but I don't recall anyone mentioning an 87 GVR4) and 89 being the production starts.

There were '88 GVR4's in the US? I haven't heard of this before!
