Re: 4 bolt rear end in a 91 AWD talon

Everything should swap right over. I did the swap last fall from a 3 bolt to a 4 bolt- dont even know the year-...

If you dont have enough bolts just go buy some at the hardware store. If you want stronger ones, get the heat treated style.

It was a PITA but just took patience and correctly lining up parts. One thing I remember that was a bitch was connecting the bolts that go in through the top. Theres not much room up there for a torque wrench and your arm. Have fun

Oh beleive me, mike is doing this. I dont have the tooling. I had a rough time just getting it out. I had no problem getting the bolts out of the top though? Is the bracket on the back side of the diff needed? Or is the 3 bolt one workable?

Re: 4 bolt rear end in a 91 AWD talon

carrier, axles and cups are direct bolt in's, just went through this back this spring, It was surpisingly easy, hardest part is getting the carrier back in its home on the chassis, make sure you tighten the bolts on the top first, while its hanging down.
