Re: 2005 Tax Returns: What will you get?

That's a great idea and all, but if I got it in my checks, it would already have been spent at Myth or something. I like getting the tax return at the end of the year. Maybe it's not as smart or whatever, but that extra $10/week that I'd get by claiming a higher number, that would be gone at McDonalds probably. So instead I just claim my zero and enjoy the little bonus! That's just me though.

Re: 2005 Tax Returns: What will you get?

So, guys I made about 2,000 dollars this year.

and like 4,000 in tips! woohooo!

hahahaha working for $6.15/hour is the best thing ever!

I wonder if they will ever be able to collect tips on drivers?
I know with servers they estimate that someone pays about 10-15% per visit on tips. So they might be getting money from there tips. I doubt they will ever get taxes on tips from drivers or servers though.

I'm the same way, nice little kick back for something bigger that you might not have saved up for otherwise. Or a nice chuck to just build a checking or savings account.

I’m not sure what I will get with owning two houses and having two dependents on a single income, The IRS will probably tell me that my life style is exceeding my income.

Re: 2005 Tax Returns: What will you get?

at my work (ruby tuesday) we have to claim at least 10% of our tips, which then gets taxed with each paycheck. it sucks because it automatically claims any credit card tips, which is generally way over 10% of the total tips.

Re: 2005 Tax Returns: What will you get?

I prefer to get a refund at the end of the year. I dont mind giving the government an interest free loan, it just doesnt bother me; paying taxes doesnt bother me much either. If I didnt want the government to get any of my money I'd move to some backwater shithole and live off the land. I dont need the extra $20/week and I damn sure wouldnt be investing it properly. Its nice to have a little extra at the end of every year to guarantee my trip to Hawaii. I've been in a money pinch a few times this year, and certainly would have spent anything I would have tried to save.

Re: 2005 Tax Returns: What will you get?

Let me explain why I'm getting a large tax return. If I let the government hold some of my cash for me during the year it keeps it out of the hands of my woman. Now I can take my income tax return and put it in one of the bank accounts that she doesn't have access to. So in my case it's worth it because it's just money that would have gotten spent during the year on worthless shit. Now it can be spent on firearms, huntin' trips and car stuff.

After looking at my paycheck stubs from last year, I remembered about $2,000 I paid out from the company I worked for at the beginning of the year. It looks like I'll get over $8,000 back.

Maybe like $100 if I'm lucky. That would be nice. Gas money.

Re: 2005 Tax Returns: What will you get?

hopefully about 350-400 bucks... I don't make enough for any federal to apply so I get it all back.... The book keeper at my work just doesn't know how to write a paycheck without putting it on.
Ohh and depending on weather I get the evo or not it will be spend on a new headunit or the evo.

You will as long as you owned it most of the year. When I bought my townhome, I had 3/4 of year in interest, and that helped... but the next full year made a big difference. Enjoy the condo!!

Re: 2005 Tax Returns: What will you get?

Yes I ran into this also. I bought a house this year (Sept) and thought I would get a big break come tax time, but of course this didn't happen. Oh well, I can't wait to see what kind of break it'll give me next year.

Usually Ive only got back about 400 total, part time isnt really fun but it works for now. Ill probably put it into my stereo setup, or an Ellipsoid angel eye HID Kit for the M.

Re: 2005 Tax Returns: What will you get?

Nothing, I'll owe a few MORE grand.

It just doesn't pay for anyone to work harder and longer with the progressive income tax in this country anymore, it's a really sad era for America.
