Re: Should I trade?
If it was something more special I would say go for it, but a '73 Nova isn't exactly a collectors car. They were cheap as hell back then and they sold a ton of them. I am sure it isn't a real SS as I am quite sure they didn't make them in 73 either.

Re: Should I trade?
The one thing ive ben thinking lately is how much easier it would be to work on that car or many others out there. I have pulled just about everything out of my bay i can find and there still isnt as much room.
-keep the dsm or get some cash to

Re: Should I trade?
If the interior and body are really nice i'd trade, although i have no idea how much $ you have in your car either. I really like those old muscle cars, if it were a GTO I'd trade in a heartbeat.

The motor is a big block from an older 60's nova, but they did in fact make the ss in '73. I did a quick briefing on the differences between each year earlier today.

Re: Should I trade?
Ok I think what I'll do is hold off on the nova mainly because like some of you said, it isn't the practical car I'm looking for. I know when I get older I'd like to restore an old muscle car of some sort, and I guess I just got a little excited. I'll keep the dsm up for sale for now.
Thanks for all the helpful comments.

Re: Should I trade?
^ Well if the GSX is your main ride and you're debating on trading your GSX for a new main ride, the NOVA... then NO I wouldn't trade either. A NOVA like that isn't practical for a daily car these days. Ya, a '73 isn't exactly considered a collector either.

Re: Should I trade?
I wouldn't do it in a million years. Even if it was a real SS, they would've only come with a 200hp small block at best and it wouldn't be worth two squirts of piss anyways. There's just nothing special about that car and you'd be fixing it twice as much as your DSM. The Nova looks like about a $5000 car to me.

Re: Should I trade?
^Well it does have a late 60's big block in it and I've been told it's pretty quick by some other friends. But your opinion means a lot to me steve, thanks

Re: Should I trade?
Late 60's big blocks don't mean squat unless it's something special like a ZL1, LS6, LS7 or L88. They were commonly used in trucks as well with small heads and low compression. If it had aluminum heads and some decent pistons, it might be fast.

Re: Should I trade?
ok kracka i cant keep it because i already paid the $25 to put it up on carsoup haha
Honestly, I don't get why everybody thinks I should keep it. I finally have it running great and it's probably at it's peak point and worth just that. I don't plan on keeping this car forever.

Re: Should I trade?
Keep it because it is running great and at its peak! DSMers all strive for a great car, but as soon as that goal is met they're listed for sale. I drove mine until the engine finally let go, parted it out, and made more money than it was ever worth whole.

Re: Should I trade?
^how'd you make more money that way? Unless you have a built up motor I don't see how any dsm could part out for over $4000.

Maybe I should just have you part it out and keep some of the profit hahaha. Not for a while though.

I parted out my '94 Talon TSi (FWD) for over $12k, and that was with a rod-knocking engine.

Re: Should I trade?
Selling every single little piece off the car. I spent about 3 months doing it, but it was actually pretty fun b/c every time I took off a part it would bring back memories of me installing that part.

Awww.
But yeah, parting out does generally bring a lot more money. Obviously can take more time than just selling the car, but it does bring in more money. You're not going to sell it or part it, I think that's obvious. The question is, what will you get next? You've already gotten/sold a goped...
Get a Ruckus or a Zuma.
There are some videos out on youtube of them things freestyling. Kind of sick!
