Re: wtf is tx 2k13?
Agree it would be for events. If the group decides to hit the streets with it 1 day, as long as everyone agrees then OK.
Also I guess I don't envision it as the "sites car". It belongs to the group. If Style, or whomever, wanted to sponsor it, then OK they are a sponsor. Ownership remains in the hands of the group.
I'd be in depending on who else exactly is in, and if this is for real and done legit, not just some BS. Come up with a plan, a treasurer to account for all money/investments, etc. And like I said, I have $500 I am can pitch in for part ownership for starters.
Still gotta run it past the boss, but I highly doubt she'll say no

I dont think it should be get parted out though. Building for 1 event doesnt seem worth the reward I guess.

Re: wtf is tx 2k13?
I would go next year, the vette would have been perfect for this haha, even though it would be on the slow side of the spectrum.
Wish I still lived up there to go in on the group drag car, sounds a lot like the chumpcar teams except drag racing.

Re: wtf is tx 2k13?
Yeah, I have my own project as well I'm working on. I think it could be fun though with the right group of smart guys with similar mindset/goals in mind.

If that shell is what it appears to be, that's a helluva clean shell for $300

Finding the right group of people will be the hard part lol. If you let too many people in on it then everyone who throws in $50 will think they have equal ownership

Re: wtf is tx 2k13?
If the shell is clean and cheap enough is awd really that much of a deal breaker?? I mean from the sounds of it based on the goals for the car even if it is a frumroll machine it sounds like awd wouldn't hurt

Re: wtf is tx 2k13?
If it's the shell I think it is, it's my old shell. Beautiful rust free Arizona 1g. Well at least rust free when I sold it a couple years ago.

Re: wtf is tx 2k13?
No AWD is not a deal breaker but does add alot of extra weight.
Yeah, I knew that was your old shell.

Re: wtf is tx 2k13?
uh oh he is getting sentimental!!
Remember you don't have to buy everything new, I'd like to help where I can but I don't care for any ownership maybe just a drive or ride when its done.
There are plenty of big turbos for under $800.

A Scummit or Colt hatch would be the ticket.

Re: wtf is tx 2k13?
AWD wouldn't be a deal breaker, but I personally have been dreaming of building a FWD 1g Auto monster for a few years now, keeps things lighter and simpler and kind of a fun challenge. Could you just swap in a rear subframe from a fwd?

As have I. The Colt is a bit lighter no doubt, but there is some trade off in high speed aerodynamics and stability.
