If you're quiet then nobody will know how ignorant you are. Dave and I fail pretty big.

I am by no means the most car savy guy around, but I try to be knowledgeable about them. Can't learn if no one teaches and people on this site let ya know if you are wrong

Also....I don't think I will ever catch Lomker for biggest project thread.

Gotta love 'Style Don't take the criticism too hard, it's mostly meant as constructive. Scheides and I call each other names all the time over G-chat.

Once I get my car back we can cruise, its been down most the time i have been on this site, lol.

This is also the life of dave blog, gotta update it a lot

Honestly I am just super ancy about my car because it has been so damn long since i have driven it. It is getting close to me getting it back and I think about it so much i update it more now, or find reasons to update it, lol.

At first I was only trying to update it with major things. But going a little crazy without a fun summer car when its nice out.

I'm down to cruise.

That bolded statement is why I got back into DSMs, I was without a car for 8 months or something and my brother had his del sol and shit so I was living at home and like I have $1k to spend what can i get I looked at everything under the sun and well inside I wasn't done with DSMs so i think that is how it all happened.

So you are just waiting on a turbo now?

Yep, as far as parts go. I am going to leave work early and go up to DB to look at my new block for fun. It helps me cope with my anxiety of no cool car, lol.

Not sure if DB has started putting the new rods/pistons in yet but I will snap some pics.

I am getting less and less confident FP will have my turbo ready any time soon, but trying to beat my old 353 stock turbo number would be interesting. It will be a good comparo I think, few bolt ons and E85 vs full bolt ons/headwork e85. See if the extra mods do anything on the stocker.

I think I saw it on a stand yesterday, reminds me of "So fresh so clean clean".

I also saw the chunks that came out of your oil pan. Not so fresh or clean. haha.

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

Boom:

Look all 4 pistons...so this is what the engine is supposed to look like.

So I spoke with Danny...and here is where everything is at.

They said they are waiting on Manley for my pistons still, they were supposed to there like 1 or 2 ago. But once those get there they are going to put the new rods/pistons in.

Tranny is done and back, they said it looked perfect inside still so they just did the diff pins.

The head will be done next thursday or friday as well, they had to order all new valve seals so it took a bit longer. Danny said he has called the guy a few times and apparently i am top on the list, but who knows, lol.

So its all coming together.

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

It's official, Manley pistons are way behind!

Shane said that my pistons from Manley are 3+ weeks out! Screw that I say...going with the more expensive AMS spec JE pistons rated over 800whp and AMS has taken them over 1000 before as well, should be more than enough if I ever go 35r.

Shane had said either those or the CP ones would be safe, the CP's weren't coated so AMS it is, plus they are in stock and ready to ship and should be at DB on Friday or Monday at the latest.

Yea, I was looking forward to be a little different...they seemed to work out great on other Evo builds DB did.

But 3+ weeks, summer could be over by then...I'd happily pay an extra 100-200 for pistons to get something sooner. Shane even said he just wanted to get going on the motor, haha. Not sure if he is wants to see numbers and get it going or just wants it done so i stop bugging them. I try to avoid it but its hard when I have so much shit floating around in my head on what I would like to do. PLus I try to coordinate everything to avoid hang ups, but it is what it is kinda.
