PTE "Boosted Series" turbo's
Any one know anything about these? I know they are paying contingencies if guys win using one, but I can't find out squat about them. It says coming mid 2007 on their website and they talk on the front page about a few racers using them. Google let me down though and I couldn't come up with anything.

Re: PTE "Boosted Series" turbo's
When I have asked them, they have said they are mainly turbos built to fit into the rules of specific classes.

Re: PTE "Boosted Series" turbo's
They already offer the ball bearing center sections with an "R" designation behind the part number. On the price sheet there is a whole new section for the boosted series, haven't heard much about them either...

Re: PTE "Boosted Series" turbo's
Boosted series are a custom designed turbine or compressor wheel to fit in/around class specifications. Similar to the extended tip technology for BW I would imagine.
Wow, guess I am the only PTE vendor here that talks to PTE alot besides ordering parts .

What would they do custom exactly? Seems as though they have such a variety of turbos already, there has to be one that fits into whatever class somehow...
Do they make a variable-vein BB 35R that can spool at idle?

As of late I can't get them to make me a turbo in a timely fashion for the life of me lol, as such I have rerouted most of my turbo purchasing elsewhere

Therein lies my problem Every mitsu bolt on I order ends up with "well we're out of that turbine housing" or "no ETA on ported shroud S covers." lol

Re: PTE "Boosted Series" turbo's
Usually no reason to talk to them, we can do a better job picking turbos for setups than they can and they don't have problems getting us GT4788s.

I wouldn't buy from Turbonetics. One of our customers has been waiting 6 months for them to get his Y2K back to him.

Re: PTE "Boosted Series" turbo's
I guess the Boosted version of 61 is done. I think they just redesigned the stage 5 exhaust wheel.

Re: PTE "Boosted Series" turbo's
Stage 5 is so last year, the new hot street setup is the SC6176s. They could up the A/R on the compressor cover on the "boosted" turbos, I might need a bigger A/R on my 4202, or just try a 4788 like everyone else.

Is this thing gonna make more power, more low-end torque, or what? What is goal and outcome of the new design?

Re: PTE "Boosted Series" turbo's
The redesigned exhaust wheels are supposed to have the same inducer/exducer sizes, but be a taller wheel. So they should spool the same but have less backpressure, which could mean more power depending on how the turbo is used. I think they are going to be doing the P-trim and stage 3 wheels in the near future.

Re: PTE "Boosted Series" turbo's
So they are applying the GT wheel technology to a couple of the regular, popular wheels?

Re: PTE "Boosted Series" turbo's
Or they shave down the Ptrim exhaust wheel to the same diameter as the T350(stage 5) and it ends up being taller then the T350(stage 5) for mad powa.
