Who has 17" or 18" wheels on a 1G?

I've been looking through tons and tons of wheel choices and I haven't found anything I'm dead set on. I guess I'm gonna buy a set of snow tires to put on my stock '97 GS-T wheels for the winter, but I really want a nice set of 17"/18" wheels to cruise around on so I can enjoy the KYB's and H&R's for a while. I'm also debating about putting a set of Baer's on the front. What are the roads like during the winter? Am I gonna end up in a ditch with a welded center diff and 18's? What do you guys have? Post pics if you got 'em.

I have 17x8 ADR Kasai's in black chrome on my car. Offset is 35mm I believe. No rubbing and I didn't have to roll the fenders. I also have AGX's and H&R's on right now.

What size tire is that? I like the wheels. What do you think about the ride quality/grip? What are your AGX's set at when you're on the street?

Tires are 235s I think, ride is so fucking bumpy your nuts are like a speed bag in a boxing gym. The setting really makes no difference in my opinion, maybe a little bit, but the car is fairly light so that has a lot to do with it.

I had 17" wheels on my 1G Talon with 225/45-17 tires, GroundControl coilovers, and AGX shocks. The ride sucked bad but man did that car handle. Check out the 18" wheels I have for sale down in the classifieds. Snow tires for the winter are a great choice, you won't have any problems getting through the snow or staying on the road as long as your drive responsibily.

Yeah, mine are 235/45 17's. About as big as you can go on a 1g and not rub. My AGX's are 3 in front and 1 in back for the street, 8 in back for the track and 1 up front.

Hrmm...Ok, maybe not then. I'm getting old and I'd like to keep what nuts I have. I had actually been looking at a 17" wheel with a 235/45/17.

The suspension components make all the difference. I've got 17's with Koni adjustables and Eibach sportlines. It's actually pretty comfortable on the soft settings. She's a little stiff on the hard settings.

What width, offset are your wheels? What size/brand of tires do you have?

17x8, don't remember the offset. The tires are Bridgestone Potenza 225/45/17's. I used to have some TSW Hockenheims 17x8 with 235/45/17's on them. Both have worked great, the 235's rubbed a hair on the inner plastic splash apron on the passenger side. I don't have any of that crap anymore so tire clearance isn't an issue.

Stagecoach. That's what the car rides like with the AGX's/Eibach Pro Kit set on 8 rear and 4 front. Rolling stock is 215/50/17's until I buy a new set of wheels/tires. 1 rear and 4 front isn't too bad, definately better than 8/4. I wouldn't know what the front rides like on 1, the damn adjusters are stuck.

Well, i havent had the enjoyment of trying my new suspension out yet (rebuilding motor) but on my hatchback i had some Tokico Blues with H&R 2 in lowering springs and strut bar and it handled like a champ, really bumpy but that car also weighed about 600-700 lbs less...haha HONDUH POWER!
