2g Stock Clutch HP rating

What is the max HP that the stock clutch on a 95 2g can handle?

Re: 2g Stock Clutch HP rating

Depends on how you launch it, but most will agree that about 10 hp over stock will kill it

AWD can kill one bone stock and crazy launches. FWD is much easier on them because of the wheel spin. It is really hard to give an exact rating.

I've got a ACT 2200 and she handles pretty well. It came on the car when I baught it, but I'm not complaining.

Re: 2g Stock Clutch HP rating

My 2.4L with a 50 trim ran a 12.5 on a stock clutch with a fidanza flywheel. It only had a couple thousand miles on it and it barely held for that run (plus the slower run before that). After that it wouldn't hold going WOT from a roll. It may have lasted a lot longer if I didn't launch it.

I'm currently running an ACT 2100 with a Horse Power Freaks bronze disk. It holds the power fine but I haven't tried launching it. I'm guessing it won't like repeated launches either. I do like that the car is still pretty easy to drive though.

Re: 2g Stock Clutch HP rating

When I had my GSX running high 14s with just a few bolt on's I trashed the clutch in one outing at the track with about 20 6k lauches. It barley made it back to the cities. I went to a 2600lb right after that.

260ish awhp is what I've had one "fail at" on the dyno.
As far as driveability? The clutch's life is soley in your hands and how you drive it.
