Angry oil filter spindale screw

does any one know if this suppose to be torque tighten? if so how many pounds? because it keeps shooting all my oil out

I assume you have the 91+ oil cooler? If so does it seem like the screw is backing out? It's a common problem. You'll want to remove it, clean everything really well with brake cleaner, put a little lock-tite on the threads and reinstall. You do NOT want to torque it tightly. Just a little bit. Torquing it too tightly can damage the oil cooler and cause oil and coolant to mix.

There's a torque specification for everything... You just have to look. If it keeps coming off, obviously your doing something wrong

i think it is its on a 98 gst but i did the lock nut stuff and bolted it on snuged and now waiting to see if it comes loose again
