Saw a bit of an oil leak, so I pulled the oil pan off. Saw this stuff lying inside... I dont know what it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: help needed!!!

The turbo probably wouldn't be feeling to good. You should probably take the engine completely apart and clean out all the oil galleries and passageways.

But you could probably get by with a couple oil changes in rapid succession with new filters.

No why? The car only has 175xxx on it, would that cause early turbo wear? No, I have a dark green 2g with an E316g on it(360awhp). Its been at DB before, just working on a 6 bolt swap on it, using a motor I pulled from another car. I'll have to get some pics of the turbo which came on this motor...

Thanks for the help to ID the parts. I think I got everything cleaned out and in good shape. The turbo going back on only has 2000mi on it so I should be good for another year. Thanks Again!!

Well you wouldn't be the first person; how long have you had the car? It could have happened long ago. Some threads that you might wanna read for cross reference:

I've had the 7bolt in my car since it came from the factory, never had an issue with it. Until, it dropped the balance shaft belt last Sept. Checked out a car for sale(from here) and it had a built motor in it with low miles on it. Bought it and brought it home, turbo was junk and it ran like crap due to many issues. Swapped motors, turbo setups, and a few other things.

Everything I noticed looked good on the underside, no signs of damaged bearings or seals. I should be back up and running, if all goes well, by the end of the week. Then hopfully get to MAP and beat Aaron on the 16g dyno numbers.
