1g awd tranny noise

So I took the car out tonight to see how the acted in the snow. And so when I get on it the ass end slides out. But the front tires aren't spinning that I could tell. Is this normal for it to do that in the snow. is the center diff broke? Or is it just slipping cause the power and road condition? Just wondering if I should start with building a tranny before buying new parts.

How do you know if the front wheels weren't spinning?

I would say put in on jackstands and see for sure if the front wheels are spinning, have a friend take a look while you're giving it gas in gear with all four wheels off the ground

Open front diff. Good chance one isn't really spinning if the other one is allowed to spin and the rear tires are "driving" the vehicle. As mentioned, how are you showing the front tires aren't moving?

When I got home I dropped the clutch in my driveway and from the marks it was just the rear tires spinning. Nothing from the front. You could see the tread pattern perfectly

Ok so I took the talon out today. And it makes the noise even when I rev it up. With the clutch in and out. I did a couple pulls and in third gear it was fine no nosie half the time. All four hooked. But in lower gears it always made the noise. And felt like the rears tires are spinning.
