Aftermarket 1gb headlights
Have been looking EVERYWHERE for some sort of aftermarket headlight assembly. I'm not talking something ricey, I've just always liked the blackhousing look, and I have not seen a set for sale in a long time. Anyone know where any sort of aftermarket headlight is sold anymore? I've also seen these crazy looking clear lensed ones with an almost blue tint. Open to ideas, if I can't find something I like, I'll just buy newer headlights and clean um up.
Thanks ahead of time!

Re: Aftermarket 1gb headlights
Everyone has seemed to have picked them up years ago, which is the issue haha. I recall seeing sets on eBay, but that was like 2-3 years ago. I also know kevin (sleepydsm) has a set of blackhousing, and we have discussed how they seem to be extinct now.

These are the ones I have, I bought them on a few EBay years ago, but I know Andy's Auto Sport sells them now

Geez, for $320 or whatever they are from Andys Autosport, not worth it imo. They were like $120 back in the day.

Re: Aftermarket 1gb headlights
Yea I don't plan in buying from there. There a guys selling a 93 tsi on craigslist, that has blackousings, but doesn't want to sell them seperate, even if I threw my set in..and I'm not buying a $2000 car for headlights...haha

Re: Aftermarket 1gb headlights
I don't think they make the black housing ones anymore.. You'd probably have better luck finding those, and then bake/paint them like I did..
The headlights are easy to seperate, but for some reason, I cant get the clear corners to seperate! (grr!)

Have a link on how to do it? And if you have some pics, post um up, I'd like to see a finished product. If I can just mod my current headlights, and it looks good, then I will.
And yea kevin, I envy your headlights, especially the dark corners, which seem to have gone extinct too.

Re: Aftermarket 1gb headlights
Looks like I was lucky and got one of the last few sets. I haven't seen any for sale since I got mine early last spring.

Re: Aftermarket 1gb headlights
When I got mine, there were none on Ebay, so I just did a google search and found a set on a random website. I don't remember what it was called though.

Re: Aftermarket 1gb headlights
Well I feel rather stupid, but thanks for the links mark!! But I can't stand how they don't post up actual product pictures (guess I'm too used to buying used crap, and having more detailed pics). I contacted andys auto, and they said they don't have any other pictures (which wasn't what I asked, I asked them to take some pictures.) Then again I didn't plan on paying $320 to buy from them anyways. That first link is promising, but I gotta dig a bit more.
Edit:dont see a price in the first link.

Re: Aftermarket 1gb headlights
Contacted tunersdepot.com, because it said in the description that they come in chrome and black. Well turns out that was a generic description for that brand, and they said since the age of the vehicle, they don't and won't be making the black housing version
