Re: to do or not to do?
Use a kit and get them out of there. The one going to the oil pump siezed on my first dsm which stopped the pump and blew up my motor. The extra tiny bit of vibration is a non issue IMHO.

Re: to do or not to do?
There are so many 4g6x engines running around without them it's a no brainer.

Re: to do or not to do?
The Evo X doesn't use balance shafts. Take them out properly and you'll be better off in the long run.

Re: to do or not to do?
If you think the vibration might bother you then maybe not, but as far as reliability its more reliable having them out, most timing belt failures are caused from the stupid front balence shaft belt.

Re: to do or not to do?
Pulled mine out of my original 7 bolt and never noticed a real difference. Take them out and move on.

Re: to do or not to do?
The added vibration is minimal. Poly or solid motor mounts will add a lot more vibration than doing a balance shaft removal. You do get crazy vibration if you only remove the belt, or if you don't know that having the oil pump marked lined up when doing the timing belt only gives you a 50/50 chance of being right and you get the balance shaft 180 degrees out of phase.

Re: to do or not to do?
It's a pain to do with the motor in the car. Most people do it when they have the motor out for a rebuild. Who knows on power, maybe 5 hp. It mostly makes life easier and makes it less likely that the balance shaft belt takes out your timing belt. I would only put in 264s if you have a tiny turbo like a T25 or 14B, otherwise get something bigger.

Re: to do or not to do?
If you're going to make the change, go 272. 264 cams are not much bigger than stock.

Re: to do or not to do?
No, you'll be fine with 272s on stock valvesprings. Pretty mild lift on most of them for DSMs.

HKS. I know Brad (C3L1CA on here) has had pretty good luck with his DKS (I think) cams.

Re: to do or not to do?
I'll be going with some delta k272's in my car this year, but those are a bit more aggressive. I'd say if your going for budget, BC 272's are okay....by no means the best. Better off spending the money and buying hks 272's.

It's for everything, helps turbos spool better and give more power down low as well as help the engine breathe in the higher RPM range and hold power better to redline.
