Re: beaterX project thread

My guess is Jeff's alignment rack is out of calibration, the exact same thing happened to my IX; insane inner wear, got the alignment checked elsewhere, and the toe was fucked like yours.

Re: beaterX project thread

Well that isn't very comforting. He did mine. I don't want my new $1100 star specs to get screwed.

Looks like I am going to head to stellar for an alignment this time around.

Re: beaterX project thread

Take it for a free alignment check at one of the chains, no reason to be super alarmed yet, it's possible that Scheides and I just have shitty luck

Those wires in the tires are just for more grip, no worries lol. I used to work at Discount Tires and we always used to bs about funny stuff like that.

Golden Valley tire doesn't mess up. I always took my car there for tire mounting and alignments.

Re: beaterX project thread

Changed oil in the evo on Tuesday, drove it to work and back Weds. On the way to work Thursday I think it sounds funny, oil light comes on and I hit the ignition off instantly....coasted down to a parking lot and voila: oil dumping out the drain. I must not have tightened the drain bolt!

Got a new drain bolt and some oil and she sounds ok....hopefully no issues down the road, only 7500 miles on this engine. Enough came out of the pan and onto the lot that I think it'll be ok but man I'm neeerrrrrrvous.

Wow that sucks. On a good note there was still some oil in the pan. I doubt any real damage was done.

Re: beaterX project thread

Changed the oil and filter again (and double-checked the filter and the drain plug!), no signs of ish in the oil pan, no bad noises yet. Went for a drive w/ spaz to get the oil good and hot, no issues the whole way. I'm hoping she stays together, I don't want to take this thing apart again.
