What about your driveshaft allignment? Might be worth a shot. And if the driveshaft has been in and out quite a few times, it's possible re-shimming could help.
u still planning on stopping by tonight? i can help diagnose or whatever.
Not going to be able too, I'm getting the snow tires put on in the morning and dropping it off there tonight. I'm most likely going to bring it to my friends shop that has a lift to do some inspection.
Yea mine is making a weird sound while acel and decel, almost sounds like a tornado siren. Im afraid its the T-case but hope its something small. Fluids were good in both t case and diff, nothing wrong with driveshaft and wheel bearings seem to be good

How long had it been since it ran? Journal bearing turbos sometimes can have a bit of play like that if they sat for a while and the oil is all drained out of the bearing....but on a turbo like the black that amount of play would prolly have me a little worried! Def send the video to FP and see what they say.

Was probably about 10 minutes since it ran I think. It never hadthat kind of play in it before, and I've only put maybe 4-5k on it.
Zinc content high enough to meet their specs? If I remember you were running part VR1 part something else? Hopefully they'll warranty it.
Yeah hopefully the warrenty will be good/ have it in time for the cruise. Last year I was running same valvoline 10/40 20/50 mix. And for the winter I switched to just 10/40.
It seems like no matter what oil you use FP turbos do not have the longevity of others.
I still think that has a lot to do with how hard people run them. You never see FP users doing mild builds, well very rarely. And if they do they don't break.
Regardless, shitty man, hopefully you get it warrantied.
Trevor and I will be working on the warranty on Monday, I'll update that info as it comes.
I will agree that FP turbo's do tend to be less reliable then oem units, and some of the other aftermarkets. I guess a reliable stock frame turbo pushing close to 40 pounds might be harder to obtain then we thought.
Now this thread can get a little debate action going.
The black is blown, and I will have to pay FP to rebuild it. I will then likely sell it then, or sell it now "as-is" for a much cheaper price. Or keep it and see if it lasts longer this time?
Option 1: Get a stock turbo, wait for black to get back, then use the black and sell the stocker.
Cost: Rebuild (unknown, I'm guessing at least a couple hundred)
OEM IX turbo - $400
option 2: 6262 set up. (at least temporarily, if I decide on the HTA86 in the future it should all bolt up)
Cost: around 2.5k total. (Manifold/WG/Dump - $1,200, turbo $800, downpipe modifications-$? oil/water lines?)
Option 3: HTA86 set up
Cost: around 3.5k total (Manifold/WG/Dump - $1,200, turbo $1,600, Downpipe modifications-$? oil/water lines?)
Let me know your thoughts and opinions on the different turbo's and options you would look into.
