Not eliminate but perhaps put off when you'd need one. eg a stock 255 runs out of juice at 420whp @ db, but one of these could possibly support closer to 500whp. Put a BAP on one of these for extra crazy awesomeness I guess!

Thanks scheides! Ill just keep my 255hp then and just get a boost-a-pump. Sincwe ill need it anyways Trying to save a few ya know

I thought about posting that, but it's not true. He made like 480-ish and everything was maxed. They realized the BAP wasn't on. Then he made like 515 or 520 with the BAP and unmodified BAP but it was at the limit. THen they modified the walbro and he has pleeeenty of fuel system left now and made 530whp.
The weird thing is he made 480-ish on a single pump...maybe it was because it was partially wired from the BAP? or the BAP was actually on the lower setting? Not sure. 311, please pipe in!

Just on the Walbro, unmodded, I made 480-ish.
with the unmodded walbro and the BAP connected (hehe) I made 515ish and was out of fuel. IIRC my afr was raising to mid-high 12's at redline
We we then modded the walbro and still had the BAP hooked up. Next pull it was oober rich (low 10's all the way accross. Maybe even hit a high 9). Shane tuned it up for a little more safe power, and that was all. I believe it was quite late in the night at this point, and he had other cars to get on the dyno yet. I don't have doubts that this set up could take me a decent chunk further. We'll find out this spring.
Oh, and I may be testing out a few of these new guys with and w/o the BAP.

IMO not only will it save you a little money, but it's a damn fine (uncomplicated) set up.

Ah, whoops, I thought you guys did it the other way around. (Modded Walbro, then hooked up BAP)

For any of these data points, we need to know which kind of fuel was used. 500whp on corn takes a lot more fuel than 500whp on gas.

Re: All Sorts of Higher-Flowing fuel pumps coming onto the market
We made 640whp I believe on Kyle's 1g with a rewire, E85 and Deatschwerks pump. We were so impressed we've got 75 on the way

All data points are E85. Gasoline is generally not an issue for running out of fuel pump (for a lot of us anyways).

Ok with a rewire....I think that is an important point on these new pumps to really get the rated flow out of them. Not sure how different/important it is on a 1G vs an evo8/9 or X but I guess we will find out. I'm wondering if in 311evo's case he had the pump basically 'rewired' but running at 13.5-14v and thus was able to get so much more out of a standard un-modded 255 than others have.
Either way I'm looking at these pumps as an alternative to doing a BAP ($300-ish) on the stock X fuel pump vs just dropping in a 255($170-ish w/ adapter) and worrying that if I switch to e85 I'll max it out instantly....one of these would be $250-300 to get into an X and hopefully flow enough out of the box for my needs...then if I ever actually put a bigger snail on, do a BAP with it and really start to push one of these higher-flowing new-gen pumps...but w/o the need/complication/cost for a double-pump setup.

Re: All Sorts of Higher-Flowing fuel pumps coming onto the market
$269.99 will be our retail price for our Evo X fuel pump install kit and the DW pump.

Nice.
So next question: MAP made 640whp on the DW300 on a 1G rewired...peak power was at ~6300rpm. Does it take more fuel pump flow (or injector for that matter) to make 640whp @ 8000rpm vs 6300rpm?

640whp is the same amount of airflow which requires the corresponding amount of fuel whether it's 3000rpm or 10k rpm.

I don't know about Evo's yet, but on 1G's, rewiring the pump was one of the first five things you did.

Not true, not all engines share the same BSFC.

Shane has implied that it does but it seems like a complex calculation on a boosted car. Fuel pumps usually have worse performance at higher pressures and boost is often dropping in higher rpms. I don't like math. lol.

That might be true if you're talking large displacement NA versus small displacement turbo, but since we all have the latter, I'd say it's a safe assumption.

Re: All Sorts of Higher-Flowing fuel pumps coming onto the market
75psi is weaksauce Nate, Its that 85-90psi range I'm worried about J/K In any case DC clearly has some mis-information and likes to use my account to spread it all over the internetz. I don't know that I would trust an aeromotive backed test as the be all, end all though...

Aeromotive on left, Walbro on right. Apparently the polarity of the pins on the Aeromotive is backwards. Thread Below
