My car was making a weird noise by the engine balancer. notice the timing belt cover was rubbing on the balancer. I pulled the balancer off and the cover I all ground away by the balancer. I thought the bolts might of came loose on the cover letting it rub on the balancer. But they were all tight and all of them are were there. But I notice that the oil pump has marks on it from the balancer. I put the balancer on and it is right up againist the oil pump sprocket. So what is my problem? Did my 6 bolt crank walk on me? Is my balancer missed up? I just put cams in my car a couple hundred miles ago and the timing cover was perfectly fine.
take a pair of vice-grips lock on to the big balancer bolt. And check your thrust bearing buy pushing and pulling should be no play. its really hard for 6 bolts to crank walk cause the thrust bearing is on the center of the crank you can also pull the oil pan and check the bearing see what moved .
