News on the 2015 Evo.
So a couple of pieces of news on the Evo X and the 2015 model year.
Some of you may have heard they are discontinuing the line. This is true. However, there will be a 2015 model. In fact, we just started ordering them.
With that said, I do have some rather disappointing news. Due to US Federal safety regulations, specifically regarding how air bags deploy, they will no longer come with Recaro seats.
Oh, and Octane Blue is back!!!

Sad to hear more of this hybrid plug in crap for he other models. Hopefully they'll send it out with a bang.

Re: News on the 2015 Evo.
Thanks for posting the letter. Can you upload a picture of the 2015 ordering spec sheet? Strange news about the Recaros, they could have just redesigned the seats since Recaro does make many OEM seats that just aren't branded (I wonder if Mitsu is really just trying to further cut costs?).
I, for one, was really excited to see a hybrid Evo XI, but sounds like that will no longer be happening, at least in the near future.

That last paragraph kind of hints at a replacement, or spiritual successor if you will. But yeah, I don't expect well see it for another 2-3 years. There is some speculation that it will be a new 3000GT

A new 3kGT VR4 would be amazing; that would be the car they could take on the GT-R with.

I was going to scan it and email it to myself so that I could photoshop some things out of it when I was told "That's for internal use only."
So, I guess you'll just have to trust a sales guy that I've seen it and it's true!
Oh also heated mirrors and new cup holders are a thing.

If they made a Spyder version I'd be all over that... in 15 years when it's down to my price range out on the used market haha.

Re: News on the 2015 Evo.
John Hervert, who wrote that story, made it all up and created those pics by photoshopping a Ferrari. Notice how its suppose to be a Jalopnik article but its not on their website??
It was a great hoax because most people ate it up. And it keeps popping up again and again across the 3/S world and other places. But sadly there is no truth to it. I'm friends with John on Facebook, I'm sure he'd love to know how this got traction in another place. LOL
later,
Curt
